How do you all track your quarterly, monthly, every other week cleaning tasks?
I’ve divided the cleaning tasks for my largest client into weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly categories. When I handle everything myself, tracking is manageable. However, now that I have a team, I’m unsure of the most effective, easy, and time-efficient way to track these tasks to ensure nothing gets missed. What would be the best approach? How do you track?

I have a repetitive color week system. (Red, Green, Blue, Gold). It creates rhythm for my business. So nothing is scheduled “monthly”, but rather repeats every four weeks. Same for quarterly, it would repeat every 12 weeks instead (on the same color week). This allows for us to create a consistent & predictable pattern that can be easily scheduled far into the future. You can set these up as repeatable projects in most calendar or operational software programs.

@Avi Arturovi do you have items that need to be cleaned once/month? How do you manage it now?

@Avi Arturovi don’t overthink it. They are just like other accounts. Decisions are made differently at each bank. If you focus on community banks, you should be able to find a decision maker. Always start with the branch manager. Sometimes they are the decision maker and if not they communicate with him when they want to complain about the cleaners. Big banks (like Bank of America) are harder to get into bc they often hire big facility management companies to handle everything at their branches. And these companies sub out the work to local vendors.

@Trever Grubbs what cities/counties do you cover?
Conference goers/doers?
Do any of you attend conferences, and if so, which ones?

I've been to Cleaning & Cocktails 3x and got something significant from each. I have also attended Elite BSC Workshops 2 or 3 times. Our industry is unique. Anytime you can gather with other owners from our industry is a good investment.
Niche Target For New Biz
I've long held the opinion you should niche down, at least to start. I need your help. What niches should I target? I know what I want to target but as part of this new project, I want the community to ultimately decide. Below is a sample list (places of worship and schools omitted)...what say you? I'll compile any nominations into a poll later in the week. Banks/CUs Dealerships (boat, car, etc.) Office Buildings Small office Suites (<10K sqft) Large Offices (>10K) Restaurants Government Residential communities (e.g. residential condo or apartment common areas) Commercial communities (e.g. office condo common areas) Gyms Industrial Manufacturing Medical Retail Civic Clubs/Orgs Shopping Centers Vet/Pet Care Warehouses Data Centers TV/Radio Stations Country Clubs Dance or Gymnastic Studios Fun Zones (e.g. laser tag, minigolf, etc.) Movie Theaters/Playhouse Theaters Coworking Spaces Airports/Train Stations Embassies/Consulates
