Dropping weight, my journey, being accountable
Hey legends!!! To make me accountable I thought I’d log my journey here to keep me strong and maybe motivate others. I’ll am trying my best to be as accurate as possible with logging food, and cal burned. All activities are from my Garmin watch (I do allot of online cycling Zwift and racing outside). My target weight is around 75-76kg. So day 1 weight was 81.1, and I started pretty aggressively I must admit and dropped 0.9 in 24h, definitely don’t expect that everyday 😜 might be mostly fluid. I had dental surgery on Saturday and could only eat soft food, I wanted a strong start so I made it happen. I also watched a few motivational videos from Marty which kept me 💪. I know days I may let myself down and go the wrong direction but it can be a roller coaster, and that is ok. Yesterday went perfectly, work days can be harder. But it is the overall habit change in life that really makes the difference.

Ok update and dropped another 0.9kg @79.3kg but woke up a little dehydrated so thinking fluids again. I did intentionally eat more and tried to up my protein. Burnt allot again in exercise and once you remove the burnt cal I had 1500 for the day. Down 1.8kg which I’m really surprised with. I’m thinking the early dinner, exercise afterwards and bed has made the lost kg better than what is really is.

This morning I was up 0.2kg, I did well considering, including exercise I was under calories. I knew I’d increase a little here and there and this is one of those days.

All the best with your journey Sarah, you got this, and I have already found that if you feel like you are going to slip, a few minutes here is all the positive I need to pull back in line.
Heal Yourself & Gift That Person To The World 🌎
The guy on the left was lost—binge drinking every weekend, surrounded by the wrong crowd, lacking clarity, purpose, and confidence. I knew something had to change. I craved purpose, something that would bring out the best in me. Now, the guy on the right is a soldier with 10 years in business, has raced four marathons, one ultra marathon, and even qualified for the Boston Marathon. I’ve invested in my personal development and heald myself. If I share anything, it’s based on my experiences and what has worked for me, backed by evidence. Stay tuned for my progress picture coming in 8 weeks! 💪

Looking solid mate 💪
I’ve been sick lately 🤮
I’ve been hit and miss with a flu I got from someone I train with. It was a real deceiving bug but it stays with you about two weeks. It isn’t Covid. I’m told it’s worse to have. Long end of the short I’ve been bed ridden for 3 days. I was thinking, ‘What am I going to do’, I have so much on etc etc then a lesson came to mind from an AA meeting, “the ability to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference”. At that moment, sick and in pain I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. So thankful that I’ve been through all the difficult times in life. I sat back went into cruise control didn’t speak to anyone for 3 days. HAHA I realised the whole time I’ve had all the answers I needed to know here inside my wind head. Sometimes we need that guide or that nudge, and when you are there and you’ve got this. There is no price you can put on the mindset. Maybe I would not of found that path had I not ran into Marty. Maybe I wouldn’t have remembered an insight had I not been in this group. What’s mean to be will be. Glad to be on this road and the way all has turned out and more thankful I’m at the tail end of this flu 🙏

Never easy sharing the tough times mate you got this and you know you will be back!!! One thing I have learnt, many years ago I have some chronic fatigue, I just could never bounce back from being sick (flu’s, viruses etc). Was keeping all the macro nutrients right in my diet getting enough fruits/veg etc to have a solid immune system. I did not really enjoy eating loads of veg etc, but this is what works for me, and I think this help anyone to get in all the vitamins they need to fight back. Juicing I make lots of juices with a NutriBullet (no wastage) add in berries great for immune system, and anything else I feel I’m lacking or hard to eat. I even go seeds, beans, lentils to add protein. The key is to get the flavour in with the fruit and enough sugar and it tastes better than expected. Anyway it really helps me and is a great way to give your body what it needs and slowly have it throughout the day. Good natural way to stay healthy and top up specifically what you need that your diet could be lacking.
Expectation vs reality
Rarely in life do we have a successful launch and smooth trip to our destination. It is more like a game of snakes and ladders. There might be huge gains and we might take some massive hits. The secret is to keep the eye on the prize. I don't care if I take 3 steps forward then 1 step backwards. If I repeat that 100 times I'm 200 steps closer to my goal even after taking 100 hits.

Very true mate, it can be a roller coaster. Life can’t be smooth always ups and downs but it is how you deal with the downs that matter.

I believe in mental health and love seeing people transform their mindset. For me I struggle with confidence, and need to have a stronger mindset.
