PBs
We just recently came across David and the Mind Gym but have been eager to learn and put into place some new strategies to help our daughter grow. Today she finally broke through a new threshold and got quite a few PBs by a little bit of time. I haven’t seen her glow at a meet like today in awhile! Looking forward to continuing to grow alongside her! 😊

sprint meet
this morning I took part in a sprint meet containing only 50s and also 200m IM. I'm not much of a sprinter I specialise in 200s and 400s so I rarely swim 50s. 200m IM - first time doing it πŸ₯‰ 50m fly - 4 sec pb 50m free +1 sec i felt so dissapointef after this one bc it was the one I felt most excited and ready for as it's been going so well in training I felt so down after not because of the time but because of how I felt when I swam it I didn't think I gave it my all 50m back - 0.4 sec pb my backstroke has kind of paused recently I seem to be stuck at similar times and I slipped on the start πŸ˜‚ 50m breast - 2 sec pb seeing as I was quite tired I was quite happy with that time I also was too close on my turn overall I definitely feel like it wasn't my best meet. even tho I got pbs it's just the way I felt during some of the races after the 50 free I was too hard on myself and let it affect my other races I definitely need to learn to overcome that so it doesn't affect the rest of my performance. I need to understand that my performances are going to fluctuate and I'm going to have bad days and good days. today happened to be a bad day which my competition fell onto. I wanted to share so that everyone can understand there's not always going to be good days during comps and u can't be to hard on urself

@Julia Vollmer I've always been hard on myself I feel like o set impossible expectations on myself sometimes and get defeated when I don't reach them no matter how the rest went like on the 50 back after the free it didn't go too well either but because I wasn't expecting alot as my backstroke been iffy I wasn't as upset after that race ur right I should be more tender to myself it's something I've been working on for years

Stop Blaming Circumstances: The Truth About Swimming Fast
Effort? A choice. Positive mindset? A choice. Showing up early? A choice. Doing daily visualization? A choice. Cheering for teammates? A choice. Putting gear away? A choice. Go to bed early? A choice. Doing that little bit extra? Another choice. Fast swimming isn’t luck, talent, or magic. It’s the result of the sum of your choices. So, what's ONE choice you've been wanting to make for a long time but haven't? Let everyone know in the comments and do it starting right NOW!! πŸ‘‡

definitely screen time 6 ish hrs a day is too much! I need to lower it down by reading a book or doing something productive instead when I get bored or tired it's just what can I do when I don't want to focus on anything? alot of stuff like books require focus and sometimes I don't want to focus on anything
How do I swim fast in 200brst and get 3sub
Its a racing for upcoming events

definitely maximise ur underwater try get 7-8m + on every single one focus on the glide in each phase of the pull out each stroke should be fast and explosive to try and get into streamline as tight ad possible. hold the glide until just before u start to slow down then do ur explosive stroke again. maintain that speed throughout go out a decent pace but not too fast and build through to the last length. the last 50 make sure to increase the pace however don't shorten ur stroke. still maintain a glide but not as long as u did in the rest of the race before
Improving my breaststroke
I am a 50m breaststroke swimmer but I was just wondering how I could adapt my training to help improve my 100 and 200m breaststroke

training adaptation will mostly rely on your coach so definitely speak to him but for the 200 u Stil have to maintain a strong and explosive stroke but maintain thr glide to get the maximum distance and then do a stroke again before u start to slow down also maximise ur underwater they will be ur best friend try get about 7m + on each underwater and really use the glide in the pull out and shoot forward on each stroke
