Tapering
My daughter has always trained hard leading up to any gala but today someone advised that she should be tapering as she is swimming a 1500m race on Saturday. I do not know much with regards to this so was looking for advice. Hope it’s ok to ask this question here. Thanks

Depends if this 1500 is one of her targets for the season. Like is this her biggest competition of the season? You should only really aim to taper max 3 times per season. If this IS one of her 3 big meets then for a 1500 swimmer i wouldn't really advise tapering more than a week out, as distance swimmers need to keep milage high. Maybe drop intensity a little though.
Mobility sessions
How many extra mobility sessions should i do a week. I train 9 times a week and i stretch and foam roll for 15 min before every session.

Make sure you add mobility exercises into your pre-pool or as a warm-up for your gym sessions. Your pre-pool needs to have dynamic stretches which will act as your mobility training rather than dedicating extra sessions to them. Personally I don't tend to foam roll too much as there's not actually much science behind it (although I do it if i have a specifically tight muscle that needs releasing). So personally I'd dedicate all of your pre-pool to mobility exercises followed by some activation exercises and skipping

[Register for the Body Language live training here, comment 🚀 if you also want the recording] That sick feeling in your stomach before a big race? The trembling hands? The doubt creeping in? We get it. Competitive swimming is brutal. You train for hours, push your body to the limit, and then... your mind betrays you. But what if there was a "magic trick" to instantly boost your confidence? Something so simple, everyone can do it? Imagine this: - Walking tall onto the deck, head high, a smile on your face. Suddenly, you feel a surge of power. Competitors notice. They feel it too. - Standing strong in the call room, shoulders back, owning your space. The nerves melt away. You're in control. - Behind the blocks, meeting the crowd's gaze with a fire in your eyes. Breathing deep, chest out, ready to unleash. Doubt? Gone. This isn't magic, but if you've never done it... It feels like it. It's about changing your confidence with body language in 3 seconds. That's all it takes. It's the secret weapon you didn't know you had. Without this training? - Nerves could sabotage your performance. - You might give your competitors a psychological edge. - You could miss out on this simple, powerful tool. Join me and: - Learn the "magic trick" of confident body language, even when you're freaking out. - Use your posture, gaze, every move to command focus. - Walk onto that deck feeling like an Olympian. This is even easier than Conscious Breathing. 👉 Register for the Body Language live training here

Improving my breaststroke
I am a 50m breaststroke swimmer but I was just wondering how I could adapt my training to help improve my 100 and 200m breaststroke

Work on lengthening your stroke out, work on having a longer glide and being strong in that position. The technique you use for a 200 breast will be very different to that of a 50 breast. Most important thing is your 'line'. In your glide position you should be as straight as possible (hands together and feet together) in order to travel the most distance each stroke. In terms of the actual training, you will need to do more volume for a 200 than a 50. If that's something you want to focus on then speak to your coach about increasing the volume you swim each session.
Introduce yourself :)
Welcome, welcome to the community 👋 🏊 I promise you that I'll teach you exactly how the sports psychologist of Michael Phelps (Dr. Jim Bauman) helped me overcome my pre-race anxiety and turned me from an OK-ish swimmer into an Olympian and Swiss record holder in less than 1 year. But first... Pls, introduce yourself 😃 - Where are you from? - Who or what brought you here? - What's the biggest problem you're trying to solve? Let's goooooo! 🚀 P.S. Vote on what your child's dream is for swimming.
