What Do You Do For Fun? Let Us Know πŸ‘‡
What do you do to kick back from life stuff/stress? What do you enjoy doing, your hobby, your leisure time? For me it is the gym, sauna, Pilates, walking and family time. Occasional 🍻 with friends often watching the rugby - and I try to read a lot. There's more I need to add to this list, but slowly I am getting more time as the kids are a little bigger (both still under 4) to bring in more activity. Maybe some vets rugby on the cards πŸ€”and hoping to get back to BJJ within the next 12 months. Let's hear what you enjoy, and perhaps want to get back to in the future in the comments πŸ‘‡

For me it's fun time with wife and kids, playing games, film night or days out. I watch the football highlights with my son, but my favourite thing to do at the moment, other then real holidays and travel, is to watch travel vlogs on YouTube! :-)
This Week's Focus? & Challenge Starts Friday
Good morning! What is your one focus for the week? Just pick one thing and go at it as a priority. 🍫 Maybe it's ruling out any poor food choices until the weekend? πŸ’§ Getting in enough water πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈMaking sure that run happens regardless of the weather πŸ’Š Keeping a solid exercise routine to beat your back pain Whatever it is, make your commitments in the comments and it will be much more likely to happen. Not sure what it should be? Lets chat, send me a DM and we can look at your goals VS your plan/actions πŸ‘ Aaaaand, the 14 day Shoulder Bridge Challenge begins Friday! This is all about progressing one exercise over a period of time, it's a fun and quick challenge where you can work to your own level, seeing definite progressions over the course of the challenge πŸ™Œ Shoulder bridges are brilliant for your back, knees, hips and glutes, mobility, posture and more. Thursday I will post the intro video, and then from Friday, there will be a daily morning (UK GMT) post in the group with the days challenge video and outline. I will be in touch after this challenge to get some feedback on a NEW live challenge coming soon. Keep moving, Russ

Focus this week is to do my hip mobility exercises every evening before bed, walk everyday and repeat video 5 of the beginner course so I can move on to the final video. Been enjoying the course and can see the improvement i've made since video 1. Thanks again Russ!
What's your plan today? βœ…οΈ
Let us know in the comments πŸ‘‡ Crucial part for me today is a walk. πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Monday I breakfast with my 2 toddlers while the other half gyms early doors. Carnage. Then I work πŸ’» I instruct 2 sessions today so it's a must I get in at least half hour walk before the first session. Puts me mentally and physically in the right place. Walking is also a recognised back pain intervention. So many benefits. Whatever you're planning, get in some movement, and have a graat start to the week!

Got my walk in and then did an hour of hip mobiity exercises and stretches. It's crazy that it's my left hip is causing knee pain, it's also crazy that i could not recognise it at first, it's less mobile then right side. Plan this week is to go all in on the hips and see if it makes a difference on my daily walk.

We want to see your pictures or gifs (comments also fine) sharing how your Sunday is looking. And let us know how you've got on this week with your one big goal you set out to achieve, in the comments too 😎 We headed out for a fresh morning walk to the local arboretum 🌳

Finished my last Pilates session of the week. So 7 days walking 4km and 7 days 20 min pilates. It was not so difficult (although i still have pain under knee), the difficult part was sticking to the new routine. Best part was being outside everyday. Now i'll increase the length of the daily pilates session.
Day 2 βœ…οΈ Getting Stuff Done?
How are you measuring up against your one big thing to focus on? What are the challenges? What can we do to work around them?

@Russ Walker I was in Spain in the summer and used swimming as my main exercise which was going well, no pain at all and really enjoyed it, but going out walking for sightseeing it was still painfull. So I can adapt and stay fit with swimming and cycling, but it's not fixing the issue, it's working around it. I now beleive that issue is tight stuck hip flexor muscles, left side is for sure stuck and painful, but i was only able to notice it when i actually tried to use those muscles with Pilates, in particular the side leg lift and circles. If i had kept swimming and cycling i would not have noticed, but for running and walking, which are the most natural body movements, you need your hips for the correct walking gait. If one part is not working the body will adapt but this has now led to pain. I may be wrong, but it's feeling like I have most of the puzzle pieces now. On top of that i've learnt how important training the core and the back is so i can avoid other issues going forward.

@Russ Walker I was doing this and will do this as i progress, i can also do harder upper body training too. I'm trying to find my limit with daily routine. Walking still hurts a bit and Pilates is new for my body but i'm seeing improvements. I'm just gonna keep building each week and can add those things in. I really want a daily routine though so i'm not wasting a single day.
