Hey Recruiter Kingdom!
Hi, my name is Vitalii. I'm originally from Ukraine 🇺🇦 but have been living in Melbourne, Australia🇦🇺 for two years now since the start of the war. I'm a sales recruiter specialising in the logistics industry. There are three things I want from this community: 1. Collaboration and learning from each other. 2. Accountability and support. 3. Inspiring each other to make placements. For fun, I enjoy three activities: 1. Playing tennis and ping-pong. 2. Hiking and travelling. 3. Reading a good nonfiction book before bed. I'm looking forward to collaborating and getting to know each other. Let's go!

@Benjamin Mena it is a great country to live in. Has lots of its pros and less cons
How do you overcome "We recruit ourselves"?
Hey Recruiter Kingdom, I specialize in recruiting sales talent within the logistics sector here in Australia. My background in sales naturally led me to focus on this area—it's a space where I understand the language and can connect deeply with candidates. Salespeople are, in many ways, similar to us recruiters. One challenge I've encountered is that most top salespeople, along with hiring managers and sales managers, are active on LinkedIn, which is great for them but tough for us. As we all know, finding exceptional sales talent on job boards is like finding a needle in a haystack, but LinkedIn is a goldmine. However, this creates a problem: many potential clients I approach already recruit through LinkedIn and don't see the need for external recruiters. In the logistics sector, particularly in Australia, where the industry is relatively small and tightly knit, this is even more pronounced. Many hiring managers and sales managers already have strong networks and are comfortable recruiting on their own. So, I'm reaching out to see how you all navigate this. Have you faced similar objections? How do you overcome the "We recruit ourselves" response? Should I consider focusing on a different industry or perhaps a different type of role within sales? While I’m passionate about recruiting salespeople, I want to ensure I'm working in a sector that truly values our expertise and I can make money there. I’m eager to hear your insights and appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks in advance!

@Parker Chaney Thanks for the detailed response, man. Since I recruit salespeople in logistics in Australia, it's a small market, and sales managers are often connected with most high-performing BDMs and AMs. How would you navigate that? Would you recommend changing the sub-niche?
The BEST & HARDEST Year Of My Life
Not many people know this.. And maybe it was because I was embarrassed, thought I was stupid, thought less of myself, felt shame and everything else.. In 2022, right after my wife quit her job to get ready for our son to be born and be a stay at home mom, right before we went on our babymoon.. I was laid off from the job that I was supposed work for to provide for my family and new son.. The ONE time in my life where it was the MOST IMPORTANT time to be the provider, father and husband I needed to be.. I failed them.. Why is this happening? That is when I started trying to figure out how this can never ever happen again.. After a lot of research, I found out about recruiting and decided to build Chivalry Talent, while still looking to find another job to provide for my family.. I ended up finding another job 2 weeks before Wilder was due.. After he was born, my job was going great, my recruiting business was picking up.. But juggling a new job, a new business, and a newborn, my life was chaotic.. I was overwhelmed.. One sleepless Sunday night, the feeling of needing to pray and ask God for his direction came over me.. That next morning while helping with Wilder, I got a zoom notification on my calendar with the VP and HR.. Almost 60 days into a new job I was laid off.. again. But the feeling of peace came over me because I knew it was the sign I prayed for.. After some very difficult conversations with my wife, we agreed it was time to rely on ourselves, not depend on others, to provide for our family. Funny enough, that same day was the day my first ever candidate started their new job! Fast forward to today, life couldn't be more different. Last October I was blessed to be able to buy my wife her new "mom car", which seemed impossible a few short years ago.. I have found that what seemed like the worst situations, were actually happening FOR me, not TO me! 2022 was the best and the hardest year of my life, but if that did not happen, I would not be where I am today.
