Yo Yo Dieting
Throughout my fitness journey, I have jumped on a lot of diets that in the end brought me back full circle where I started, with nothing the bit experience. Often I have "lost weight," which is normally muscle from improperly fueling my body and the weight often comes back. To name a few: hardcore keto/carnivore diet, Paleo, and juice diets/protein shake attempts. My biggest take away from my Herd experience was proper fueling to fuel my body for energy, as well as proper muscle growth.

Day 4 Homework
My key takeaways: 1. It is important to understand BMR, calculate your own BMR and leverage it to work for you in NEAT. 2. Visceral fat is the devil and hard to get rid of. Decreasing visceral fat is the goal to success. 3. Movement goal is 10k+ steps per day. Training goal is not necessarily to kill yourself on a treadmill doing cardio, but rather to do low reps of heavy lifting or high reps of slightly less heavy lifting. Lifting continues to benefit you post workout.

Shifting the Mindset
1. While family, friends and foes can limit your ability to better yourself and progress, the main person holding you back is often yourself. 2. We must analyze things from different perspectives in order to identify the true problem and desired end goals. Part of changing our mindset is rephrasing our thoughts to focus on the positive and engaging in affirmations. 3. You don't go anywhere by doing nothing and cherish people that are there to celebrate your successful moments. - I get to meal prep to save myself time, eliminate the stress of figuring out what to eat, which often results in bad nutritional choices. - I get to workout and strengthen weakened areas so that I can reach my desired fitness goals. - I get to take time out from my busy day to focus on myself and ensure that I am working towards MY happiness also.

@Jen Bennett thank you! I hope they are beneficial to others.
Progress not perfection
Stop allowing perfection to be the enemy of progress. Too many of you are out here waiting and living for the highlights. You’re focused on trying to take your spouse on that dream vacation when the truth is, you could leave them a note today. You’re waiting for birthdays and holidays to give your kids everything they want when the truth is, you could give them a hug today. You’re waiting to close that big deal, get that promotion, or launch that business when the truth is, you could be making phone calls, networking, and building connections today. You’re waiting to hit the gym until you feel like you’re gonna hit a PR when the truth is, you could grind today. Life isn’t about the highlights. The highlights come from the consistent, diligent work of daily living. Marriage isn’t about the wedding; it’s about every day after. Being a parent isn’t about standing on the sidelines on game day; it’s about getting in the game with them daily. Working out isn’t about the big lifts or the PRs; it’s about the little lifts you didn’t feel like doing. Success in your career isn’t about closing the landmark deal; it’s about showing up as a good teammate day in and day out. When you start focusing on progress, perfection might not come, but it’ll be the closest you’ll ever get to it. Head down. Horns up. #ProgressOverPerfection #GrindEveryDay #DailyGrowth #LiveInTheMoment #FocusOnTheProcess

Preach! I see it all as waiting to tell someone that they matter until they are in a casket. You will miss the chance by sitting around and waiting for the right time. Life moves fast.
Factor Meals?
I saw in the pdf a recommendation for Mighty Meals. I have tried them to switch up from my Factor subscription, but found that their protein portions weren't matching up and with the listed protein amount. Danny are Factor meals ok for this? I generally go for the Keto/carb friendly and pork-free options because I don't eat pork products.
