Halloween Heist: Kick-Off Call is happening in 11 days
I just passed an exam!
Hey team, so this isn’t a training ‘win’ or a nutrition ‘win’ (I’m actually eating biscuits to celebrate as o type this 🍪, 🤪), but it’s a win for me. I’ve just done an exam Certified in Cyber Security and passed it! Which is good because my job at the moment is in CyberSecurity and I have (had) no qualifications in the field. It’s a win, I’ve studied for this, concurrent to work etc and increasing the amount of running in my week and enjoying training as HyRox Birmingham gets closer. I hope everyone else has had a win this week. Let us know 🤜 💥 🤛

10km PB
Took a little step away from the HYROX training today although as a running race broken up with some exercises this definitely counts Burmarrad 10km in Malta at 0700 today: - Chip time of 43:33 - Apple / strava time of 43:50 Very happy with that! (Prev PB was 47:44)

Don’t be upset about the results you got from the work you didn’t do
Hear me out team, my 5km run TT at the end of the base builder plan is about the same as my initial TT. Am I dissappointed? Yeah, a bit but not in the result or effort today, rather I am dissappointed in me not doing the specific work over the last 8weeks. Cardio? Yes! Zone 2-3? Yes! Running? Not so much. So, my message and take away is don’t get upset about the results you don’t get from the work you don’t do….and now to put in the work to get me to HyRox Birmingham and a PB. PS - I am actually pretty happy I can run a sub 24-min 5km 🏃‍♂️ and know I could be faster/more comfortable doing it.

PRs
Hey team! I just hit PRs for 3RM Squat and Deadlift. I’ve been following the 8week HyRox BaseBuilder (I think). Todays lower session was the test/retest and I added 20kg to my Squat and 15kg to my deadlift!! I’m pretty happy with that. I hope everyone’s training is going well, this has given me a kick to keep going and dial-in a bit more….
